As an entrepreneur and business owner, I’ve

 

  • Become a successful practitioner of the art of Search Engine Marketing (SEM), including organic Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Pay Per Click (PPC) methodologies. 
  • Identified and adapted cutting-edge, qualitative and quantitative marketing research techniques to be effectively used by small business exploit potentially profitable and non-profitable markets. 
  • Learned how to use targeted local television advertising cheaply and effectively for small businesses
  • Implemented marketing research and intelligence strategies to determine which paths a company should or should not purse in relation to potential profitability and odds of success
  • Designed Office Pharmacy software, a browser-based application that allows physicians to easily write and fill prescriptions in their own offices and clinics. 
  • Successfully managed the overseas development of the Office Pharmacy system utilizing an India-based programming team 
  • Designed and implemented security infrastructure for independent physicians and medical clinics to help them comply with federal HIPAA mandates 

 

As Vice President, Information Systems Infrastructure for Trust Company of the West (TCW), I successfully managed 35 top-notch network/telecom engineers through multiple projects which included: 

 

  • Successfully managed and directed several major IT projects for the company in the course of one year including:
    • Replacement of the Siemens telecommunications system are without negative impact to daily company operations
    • The transition of the network backbone conversion of the e-mail system and
    • Managed dual system transitions through the export/outsource of TCW financial back office to Mellon Bank 
  • Managed the transition of the network backbone from Novell NetWare to Microsoft, the conversion of the GroupWise e-mail system to Microsoft Exchange 
  • Created and successfully managed $18 million budget for IT technology 
  • Developed TCW system / network security infrastructure 
  • Wrote the Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP) for TCW worldwide  

As Senior Systems Analyst at TCW, I was responsible for the implementation and daily management of numerous enterprise-wide systems...

 

  • Directed technical integration of acquired subsidiaries in the TCW's network environment 
  • Lead enterprise-wide planning and application deployment across servers and locations for all standard office applications 
  • Formalized user support creating and managing HelpDesk environment.  Let company team to analyze requirements, process and procedures in developing a working infrastructure 
  • Chaired Internet/Intranet planning team 
  • Wrote corporate user policies for computer, electronic mail and Internet usage 
  • Designed and implemented first corporate network and electronic mail system. 
  • Later extended the electronic mail infrastructure enterprise-wide, linking remote offices in Hong Kong , London , San Francisco, New York to the Los Angeles headquarters 
  • Directed the fast-track move and integration of the former Continental Asset Management financial trading desk into existing company infrastructure. The project went from concept to roll out in six weeks with a mandatory weekend cut over to facilitate Monday morning trading
  • Built the multimedia presentation software platform for “road trip”  marketing seminars to high net worth individuals in Los Angeles, New York and  Chicago  
  • Directed the combined IT and marketing teams to assess and develop Internet strategy and intranet applications. 
  • Engineered stop action and recovery of virus breakout after TCW internal network was compromised 

 

As a volunteer…

 

  • Designed and coded the Resource / Financial database for Peter Ueberroth’s Rebuild LA, a nonprofit organization create to "restore the health and vitality of Los Angeles" in the wake of the Rodney King riots. 
  • Donated time, hardware, design and development skills to provide a lower-cost, viable network environment for Temple City High  School ’s “Kids at Risk” program 

 

As Sr. Managing Consultant for Creative Computer Consultants

 

  • Developed process and procedures for hardware deployment of Hilton Hotels Property Management System II (HPMS II): performed site analysis, managed budgeting, purchasing and outside vendor relationships.  Also directed engineers and technicians through field installations while managing network installations nationwide.
  • Managed the client deployment and support side of Microsoft Exchange/Outlook migration from Novell GroupWise messaging system for Syncor International Corp. (a global pharmaceutical firm) and separately for its subsidiary, Comprehensive Medical Imaging 
  • Directed the Y2K assessment and remediation for the California Endowment, a private health foundation that provides grants to community-based organizations throughout California .
